Amy Durham is the mother of a child with an addiction. She earned her warrior cape years before the death of her son, Alec, as she watched him waver in an and out of sobriety. In his honor, she continues to speak out in the community about addiction awareness and recovery. She and her husband, Jeff, own a remodeling business, DMC Home Improvement & Designs where she works as an interior designer. Their daughter, Layla, and her stepson, Chase, also keep her on her toes. To help her with the grief process, she enjoys creative hobbies such as gardening, sewing, painting, crocheting, and napping.

Amy & Alec
Alec
“Me”- this was the very first tattoo Alec got, located on his inner right forearm for him to see daily. When asked what it meant, his response made me proud… It went something like this… “It’s to remind me that my happiness only comes from within me, not out there from other people or things. I have to be happy with who I am before something else can make me happy”
